The short bodied,long legged, bulging eyed- frog is an amphibian in the order Anura-meaning tail-less. With almost 5000 species present world-over, inhabiting diverse climatic zones from Arctic to Tropical, frogs are mainly known for their croaky calls in the night, especially during mating season. Carnivorous diet of anthropods, annelids and gastropods, the frogs lay their eggs in the water from which tiny ‘tadpoles’ appear. Frogs and toads are confused with one another although they have a moderate difference in appearance and also due to the fact that toads prefer drier terrains.
